West Coast Paintball Series is proud to present Event #5 at the 2011 Oregon State Fair! This is the first time in Oregon history that a paintball event is being held at the fair, which is hugely exciting for the sport of paintball. You won’t want to miss playing in front of thousands of spectators and under the big lights at this two-day event! Here are some announcements regarding this event:
Entry Fees
There is a price increase from our usual fees for this event because of the added expense for it being 2 day/fair location. Early registration will begin Thursday July 28th at $150 for 3-man, $250 for 5-man. Early registration will close on Friday, August 19th at 11 PM and prices will increase to $165 for 3-man and $275 for 5-man. Online registration will close on Monday, August 22nd at 11 PM and teams will not be allowed to register after it closes. Half-off entries/ Community Giving Sponsorships discounts only apply to our normal entry rate (Example: 5-man entry is normally $150. Using a half-off discount for this event would be $250 subtract $75= $175 for 5-man entry).
Team Limitations
Because of limited space and time, we will be putting a limit on the number of teams able to play in this event. 3-man divisions will be capped at 25 teams and 5-man divisions will be capped at 22 teams. Register early to guarantee your spot – first come, first served.
Other Fees
As of right now, teams will be required to purchase tickets for entry into the fair at a discounted rate of $5.00 per person per day (regularly $11.00). We are still speaking with the fair staff and working to get this rate further reduced or eliminated for players. Spectators can get this $5.00 discounted rate also, if they pre-order by Monday August 22nd from our website at www.westcoastpbseries.com. (To be updated soon.) The fair also has a parking fee per day. We are working on getting shuttles set up to save teams some money. We’ll relay further information as it is determined.
Schedule
3-man prelims begin Saturday at noon and will run until 5:00 pm. 5-man begins at 5:00 pm and will run until 10:00-10:30 pm under the lights! (The fair closes at 11 pm and teams will need to exit the fair at that time.) Games will begin again on Sunday at 11:00 am (fair opens at 10:00 am) with 3-man prelims/finals. 5-man prelims will continue after 3-man finals (around 2:30 pm) with finals following immediately after the 5-man prelims. Event is planned to be over around 6 pm.
Hotels
Phoenix Inn South (Commerical Street) – $83 for Double rooms and $80 for King rooms with a sleeper couch. Continental breakfast included. Limited availability so call soon to reserve your room! Mention “West Coast Paintball Series” when you call in order to receive this pricing. More hotel options are still in process of being worked out.
Field
Again, because of limited space at the fair, there will be one 5-man airball field played on sand, which both 5-man and 3-man teams will play on. Part of the field will be wrapped around with tented secured staging areas for the teams.
